Switzerland is a mountainous country located in the Southern-Central of Europe. It borders countries such as Austria, France, Germany, Italy, and Liechtenstein. There are four official languages spoken in Switzerland such as – French, German, Italian, and Romansh. Apart from these four languages, English is also widely spoken here.
Tourists are attracted to the Swiss for numerous reasons. Around 11-12 million tourists visit the country each year. Most people travel to this place for a relaxing honeymoon or to enjoy some adventurous activities such as skiing, ice hockey, bungee jumping, etc. It is very easy to get around in Switzerland, as the country is well connected and public transport is extremely efficient here.
There are trains (most preferred amongst the locals), trams, buses, and funiculars. The temperature varies according to the region, in the southern part of Switzerland, Mediterranean weather can be observed compared to the glacial areas of northern Switzerland. During the summer the temperatures range from 19°C to 28°C. However, It gets really cold in winter where temperatures drop to around -10°C in more elevated areas whereas in Zurich the temperatures will drop to around -0°C.
